Let This Beauty Fill My Eyes

 

Looking toward a clear blue sky

I saw the sun shining bright

The beauty of it touched my eyes

As clear as the sky so too my sight

 

What separates all  these lines

That we  draw in the sand?

What difference between my mind

And that of my fellow man?

 

Underneath the violet sky

I danced with waving hands

Saying “Let this beauty fill my eyes,

I may never be here again”

 

“Let this beauty fill my eyes,

I may never see it again.”

 

 

Open up your mind
Feel the world coming in
All is known
It’s just your self in the way

Your eyes are open
Yet, they do not see
The world is moving
And you remain still

Change is the way
The world gets things done
You refuse and stay stagnant
And get left behind

Is it words that flow
Down the side of the mountain?
Finding refuge
In a calm, cool stream?

What do we know, who are we?
Can we find the end of the road we’re on?
Is that really even the point?
What’s the use in trying to explain it?

Reality gets lost
In all the translations
And you find yourself in a corner
With words piling up around you

Best to stay quiet
And say nothing
Than to try to explain what you’re saying
To someone who can not hear

Can you tell me the essence of what you are as you lay huddled in the cold of night with the blankets of insecurity wrapped tightly around you, shivering in the utter vastness of stark reality?
Cold
Alone
Unflinching realness faces you at every turn as you step down the slope that you have made for yourself, feeling as if the world has turned against you as you find the true path’s end.
Awake
Knowing
This is the place you have tried to find and as you open up that gate you realize that you have been here before and in fact you have never left
This place.

Likely it will be all or nothing
Though it should not be
This is how we live

We look at our world as a series of absolutes, black and white, right and wrong.

Can't we see it's us who makes these choices
Not the world around us?

Funny how we always blame nature
For our own faults.

walking on mountains, i saw the tao
beneath the still trees i heard it
in a silent forest on a high mountain
and in a low valley alike
the tao is and always will be

in a crowded city, i smell the tao
in a bustling urban jungle
the tao is still present
people ignore it and do not acknowledge
but it is, and always will be
