Clouds part

Full moon shines through

Reflected in water

Rippled by wind

Not the moon at all

Only a perception of it

A trick played on my eyes

What is it we think is wind?

It is not the branches

Of the tree blowing

For that is only the effect

We can not see “wind”

Though we say all the time

We see the wind blow

The wind is a trickster

Making us think it

Is something it’s not

1.)  I am approximately 6’ 2” and am extremely thin.

2.) The only real trade I have ever known is being a forklift operator in food service warehouses. The work is nice in that there’s lots of time to reflect on things while you are in the back of a warehouse by yourself moving things around.

3.) If I could do one thing, it would be to publish either a book of poems, a C.D. of original songs and music, or both.

4.) I am blind as a bat!!!!! If you take my glasses from me, you could leave me somewhere out in the sticks, and I would be effectively lost!!!!

5.) I am thirty-five years old, and have never been involved in any serious auto accidents. I don’t know if this is due to my excellent driving abilities, or if I’m just REALLY lucky!

I looked in the mirror and saw my face staring back

But this is not the same face I had when I was a child

The outline and emphasis has changed over time

Happy eyes have gone away along with that cherub’s smile

My mother’s face stared back at me in a very bearded way

I grinned and there she was right down to her nose

I wonder at the way we grow and carry our parents around

Is it really all genetic, I ask, or a way to keep them close?

 Ants work together

No thoughts of self

Or right and wrong

The survival of the colony

Is their goal and purpose

Feelings, emotions

Desires for change

Can destroy if left

To go unchecked

A drive to help should be selfless

Without thought

For the doer or the recipient

But with compassion for the whole

A colony is an organism

That lives and breathes because of

Each individual member

Derision and strife are like a deadly virus

That threatens the health of the organism
