Stream of Consciousness

 Friday Five

1.) While camping, my ideal spot to pitch my tent is underneath a Cedar tree.

2.) The only Sci-Fi that I have ever been a big fan of was “Star Wars”---I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen each movie. Occasionally I’ll have marathon viewings of all six parts. I have turned Mrs. W into a fan as well.

3.) When the T.V series “ The A-Team” was in first run, I didn’t miss an episode for the first couple of seasons.

4.) I like cold weather better than hot.

5.) The two most famous people I have ever met were Scotty Moore; Elvis’ first guitarist, and Ed King; from Lynyrd Skynyrd.

 What is beauty?

On a creek bank  I hear a Swallow

Singing softly above me in a Cedar

Beneath blue skies and white clouds

Amongst dark green needles

Nested

Hidden away but able, in its seclusion,

To see this beauty, and absorb it

The little Swallow does not know,

However, if all this is really beautiful

Or not

 The word...

Hold me

Whisper that word

That causes

So many to run-

Afraid of hearing it

Like it’s some demon

Or curse

Striking fear

Into their hearts

I am not afraid

I welcome the challenge

Whisper that word

To me……

I went in search of something

I went in search of something

I never really needed to find

I always held it close to me

From the hour of my birth

                      as we all do

It’s the work we do to find it

That distracts our seeking eyes

From the shadow of the thing

Standing beside us all the while

                                   Silent
