Here's a slide show set to an original piece of music I wrote this morning. As I was playing this piece, it felt hopeful and called to mind the sunrise, so I named it "Morning Glory".
The last image in the video is from my wedding. In my life, the image of my wife's hand interlocked with mine in this way is the ultimate symbol of a new day dawning: a sign of hope and love.
The audio on this video was recorded live in one take. I prefer to record this way. While there may be flaws, it just feels real to me. Hope you like it.
I have decided that the easiest way for me to post myself playing music to my blog is through YouTube.
I have not felt much like writing anything of late, but I have been playing quite a bit of guitar. Never one to be away from the Stream for too long, I decided if I can’t find words, I’ll just find other ways to express myself.
I have had a YouTube account since March of this year, but for some inexplicable reason, it never occurred to me before today that I could actually post video of myself playing and then embed said video here on the Stream. Having recovered from my mind-slip, I quickly set about recording the two videos you see here.
I have not worked up anything on the cigar boxes yet, but I will soon.
Anyway, words are not my friends right now, so here’s a couple of clips for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure, as the case may be.)
